Parent Teacher Conferences

How many times a year do you have to hold Parent Teacher Conferences (PTC’s)? In our district we have to hold them two times a year. This is something totally new for us. I am so used to having them once a year. But you know what, it’s all good.

I have to admit that this year I have a really great group of students and don’t mind meeting with their parents at least 99.9% of the time (HA). I offer conferences in a variety of ways: 1. In Person, 2. Hard Copy, 3. Phone, and 4. Email.

Our Parent Teacher Conferences at the beginning of the year are typically face to face type meetings. I am assuming that this go around, since we’ve already met, that I’ll have a few less face to face meetings and a bit more over the phone, hard copy, or email conferences. And let’s be honest, that is totally fine with me!

When I am holding those face to face conferences however, something that helps to keep knocks on the door down or other disruptions is when I hang up signs outside of the classroom letting parents know that there is a conference in progress but that I will be with them momentarily.

I simply hang these Parent Teacher Conference Signs on my classroom door and make sure I have two or three chairs set up in the hallway so parents are comfortable while the wait.

These FREE PTC Signs are FREE and you can grab them below!

My TOP Teacher & Teacherpreneur Podcasts!

So lately I’ve been on a podcast craze. The podcasts that I’ve been gravitating towards the most are those for Teachers & Teacherpreneurs.

O.M.G. Y’all! My mind is blown! Like literally blown. I can’t keep these podcasts to myself any longer.

I find myself listening to them while I’m driving, brushing my teeth, during my planning period, and while I’m making dinner. If you are looking for some great teacher podcasts or teacher preener podcasts, I’ve compiled two great “start here” lists!

If you’re ready, I’m going to share my top teacher & teacherpreneur podcasts!

Classroom Teacher Podcasts

If you don’t know about this girl right here, you may be living under a rock. This podcast is sooooo good. Ashley Marquez has such a sweet personality and just breaks things down for the everyday classroom teacher! She is super passionate about classroom management and classroom community! If you are looking for some classroom motivation and inspiration, this is your girl!

When I tell you I have all of her writing units for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade, I am so not kidding. This woman right here has found a way to help me as a teacher, urn writing into something fun for my students. I love to write personally but not all of my students like to write. The way she breaks things down, her resources are phenomenal so I know her podcast, as it grows, is only going to better me as an educator.

Teacherpreneur Podcasts

Ya’ll. This chick Is. The. BOMB.com. I’ve been following Kayse Morris (The CEO Teacher) for about 4 years! From her beginnings on YouTube to now being a CEO Teacherpreneur who makes it her life goal to help other teachers build the life that they love! I’ve purchased her courses, and when I tell you I’ve learned more from her than I could have imagined; It is the TRUTH! If you aren’t following her podcast, I strongly encourage you to get on it!

WOW! I just so happened to stumble upon this treasure called The Pinspired Teacher. As I listen to Chynell on her podcast I feel that this is my spirit sister. Yes I am a triplet/twin, but just listening to her podcast gives me LIFE! I’ve been so motivated and encouraged in my business through listening to her.

HOLY COW YALL! This girl is truly a STAR! I came across The Jasmine Star Show while listening to another entrepreneur podcast. When I say this one truly speaks to my heart as a Christian teacher wanting to start her own business; guys this is it! Jasmine truly brings that Latina touch of Jesus and mixes it with a whole bunch of normalcy. It reminds me that this business of mine is truly that of the Lord’s. I want to bring honor and glory to Him because he truly has given me these talents and abilities. If you are looking for some laughter while learning, this is your girl!

When I wanted to start a podcast I could not figure out where to even begin. I am in a few mastermind classes, and I reached out to several members asking how they got started. I was quickly pointed in the direction of this lovely gem. Krystal Proffitt helped me to understand the basics of podcasting and how to start. Her knowledge and input are going to help grow my podcast in ways that I can’t even imagine right now.

Who hasn’t heard of Amy Freakin Porterfield?! If you are a teacherpreneur or entrepreneur you have GOT to hear what she has to say. Amy truly helps entrepreneurs market their business. She is like a true OG in the game! This podcast is full of need to know information for growing your business!
